We have expanded our appointment type offering to make it more convenient for our patients to see their Doctor.
We now offer phone appointments. These are appropriate for non-urgent health concerns when you do not need to be examined. We hope this will reduce the need for patients to travel to the practice from home or work. Phone consult appointments are only available for patients registered at SHC.
These types of appointments are suitable when a physical examination is not usually needed.
How they work
Book your appointment as usual through reception or MMH. Make a note next to your booking – Phone consult and the phone number you would like to be contacted on when making your booking.
How it works: your GP will call you on that day around that time. Make sure you are available to take the call and are sat somewhere where you can talk openly about your health concerns. Prescriptions can be sent to your choice of pharmacy and you will receive your invoice by email for online payment.
For matters that require your doctor to provide advice or services in an electronic format, you can also use ManageMyHealth’s electronic consultation function. This is where you can send your doctor a secure message through the MMH portal to avoid having to come in for a consultation.
You will receive a response within two working days providing you with expert information and advice regarding your questions.

When booking through ManageMyHealth you will need to note next to your booking the phone number you would like to be contacted on. If booked through reception, they will take care of this for you. A phone number is required for both to be able to have a phone appointment.
