Some brave members of the Silverstream Health Centre team decided to go dry this July to fundraise for Te Omanga Hospice. This is a cause that is very close to the hearts for some staff members. Through generous donations from friends and family, $3000 was raised and donated to the Hospice.
Te Omanga Hospice provides palliative care through an interdisciplinary team of specialist doctors, nurses, therapists and specially trained volunteers to those living with a terminal or life limiting illness in the Hutt Valley. The Hospice provides invaluable care to both the patient and the patients loved ones through the most challenging times.
As well as fundraising for an important cause, having a dry July also has great health benefits, such as better sleep, more energy, a clear head, healthier skin, weight loss and a great sense of achievement.
