Silverstream Health Centre support immunisation

January 24th, 2020

Silverstream Health Centre support and encourage vaccinations for all of our community.

We recommend all vaccinations on the national immunisation schedule are administered to everyone, on time. We believe vaccines are the best way to help protect you and your family against potentially deadly illnesses.

All medicines have risks, including vaccines.  However, the risk of catching serious diseases, or developing complications, some life long, is far greater than the risks of vaccination.  The current measles outbreak and 70 plus deaths in Samoa (mainly children) – where their community immunisation rate was well below 50% – tragically demonstrates this.

If you have any concerns about vaccination for yourself or your family, please contact us for an open and non-judgemental conversation. You can make an appointment in the immunisation clinic to discuss your concerns/thoughts with one of our team.
