Changes in funding for contraception

December 11th, 2019

We are now able to access funding for some women to reduce the cost contraception. This includes fitting contraceptive implants (such as Jadelle) and contraceptive coils (such as Mirena) as well as appointments for the contraceptive pill or injection.

Women between the age of 15 and 44 with Community Services Cards are eligible and you do not need to be an enrolled patient of SHC.

A helpful place to go for more information about contraception options is Family Planning, visit their website here.

We have two experience coil fitting doctors in the practice (Dr Kljakovic and Dr Hurst). Make an appointment with a GP to discuss your needs – this can be a face-to-face appointment or by telephone.
